A community supported farm, a community-building vision
ABOUT THE SANDHILL PROJECT
SANDHILL CSA
As founders of Sandhill CSA, Jenn Seif, Scot Miller and Emma, Rosa and Micah - with a lot of help from others, have worked diligently at developing the skills to farm successfully on a small scale. Also, community building has always been a priority at Sandhill. As such, the organization is ready to provide community building resources and offer women’s services and empowerment programs, therapy and substance abuse counseling, and a place of retreat and renewal. These services will be available through a graduate-level social worker, a certified doula and La Leche League leader, midwifery practices, and a doctorate level minister.
The founders of Sandhill CSA want farming and food to be much more than subsistence by developing resources; farms that facilitate vitality and restoration; and sustainability enhanced by building long-term community relationships. This new vision of CSA community building, where shareholders not only make a farm profitable, but can enhance growth opportunities in an underserved rural community whose service providers will be sustained through the fruits of an agrarian agricultural model. If this seems to be a stretch, remember this: those families and individuals who are the primary consumers of locally produced food are also the citizens who are supportive of low-cost community services to underserved populations.

COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE
CSA farms sell shares to those who seek fresh and healthy locally produced meat and vegetables. Each share is an Investment in the farm’s future, rewarded with a portion of the farm’s harvest.
· "Community-supported” means that
volunteers and interns are a big part of the farm’s success.
· “Community-supported” also means that those who invest in the farm learn a lot about how food gets from farm to table, and what kind of impact a farm can have on our
environment.
· More importantly, as a community, we can design a farm that works with and contributes to a healthy environment. Community Supported
Agriculture is Earth care.

SANDHILL CSA IS NOW LOOKING FOR A FARMING PARTNER TO MANAGE A GARDEN OF AN ACRE OR MORE, VEGETABLE SHARES, AND FARMERS MARKET SALES.
